1.Choose an effective design
A landing page is often the first page a visitor sees when they arrive at your website or online store. Make sure the design is on point. It should appeal to the user and give them the feeling that they’ve come to the right place.
Important elements to consider are font, color scheme, white space, and images. Another must these days: make sure the landing page is mobile-friendly. A lot of internet traffic now comes from mobile devices, and it’s essential to adapt to this trend; otherwise, visitors will quickly leave. That
as we explained earlier already.
Another practical tip: make sure your CTA buttons stand out. Use eye-catching colors and place them in a prominent spot so they practically scream: "Click on us" (and boost your conversion rate in the process)!
2.Make sure your content is engaging
In addition to the design, the content is important. First, determine the purpose of your landing page and who it’s for. Is the page intended to sell products or simply to promote them? Or do you want people to sign up for the newsletter? Tailor the content accordingly. And who is your target audience? What are their interests, and what do they want to see? Do you address them informally or formally?
A few elements that are important to include on your landing pages:
- A catchy headline (one that appeals to your target audience)
- Call to action (CTA). A button designed to encourage people to take action (e.g., request a quote)
- A brief but compelling description of your landing page’s content (e.g., your service or product)
- A contact form
- The benefit for website visitors (e.g., with this service, you’ll never have to do this or that yourself again)
- Reviews / customer case studies from previous clients (to "prove" that your company delivers quality)

Opinions vary on the order in which you should place these elements. However, it’s a good idea to start with the headline, a CTA, and an introduction. You can also add other content such as portfolio items of delivered products, logos of your company’s (major) clients, or a price list of your services and products.
It’s important that your landing page contains at least 600 words and that you make good use of H1 and H2 headings. You should include your relevant keywords and synonyms in those headings.
3.Pay close attention to SEO
It’s great that you now have a beautiful landing page with a good design and strong content, but of course, people need to be able to find it. That’s where SEO comes in. If you implement SEO effectively, it can pay off big time. With a
wrong approach However, it can backfire on you. Conduct keyword research (or have it done) and make sure your SEO is in order, for example by focusing on the following areas:
- Write effective meta titles and meta descriptions
For example, include the keyword you want to be found for in the meta title and description. Make sure your title and description pique visitors’ curiosity.
- Make sure your website has enough content
As we mentioned earlier: make sure your landing page has at least 600 words. And don’t underestimate the importance of using images.
- Get started with link building.
You can read about how to do this naturally in our previous blog post, which includes our dos and don’ts for link building.
- Include the keywords you want to be found for in the text
Be sure to do this naturally, because ultimately, you’re writing the content on the page for the visitor, not for Google.
4.Create local landing pages
Here’s a tip we’ve been hearing a lot about lately: create local landing pages. These pages make it easy to show which region your business operates in or where your locations are. SEO plays a major role here as well: thoroughly research what visitors are searching for and create landing pages for those topics. To ensure visitors can find them, include the pages in your menu, for example.
We can already hear you thinking: but I have fifteen locations I want to target—do I have to create all those pages separately? Well, no, thank goodness not! These days, we can automatically generate local landing pages, though we do need to research which ones get a lot of traffic. But it saves a ton of time that you can then put toward other things.
5.Take a look at your competitors’ landing pages
Better to borrow a good idea than come up with a bad one, right? Take a look at what your competitors are doing well. Don’t just copy everything, but there’s no harm in getting some inspiration. Your competitors aren’t ranking high on Google for no reason. Figure out why that is and apply those insights creatively to your own website or online store.
Have a good landing page created
In addition to creating landing pages yourself, you can also have someone else do it for you. We’d be happy to help and create top-quality landing pages for you, taking all of the above factors into account, of course.
