Pallethandel Den Bosch: a B2B online store that accepts orders around the clock

A B2B online store where ordering pallets is just as easy as ordering office supplies

Traditionally, pallets are ordered by phone or through a quote: volumes, volume discounts, and delivery arrangements don’t fit into a standard online store. For Pallethandel Den Bosch, we built a custom B2B online store that handles exactly that wholesale logic, so customers can place and reorder orders day and night.

About Pallethandel Den Bosch

Pallethandel Den Bosch is a family-owned business in ‘s-Hertogenbosch that purchases, sorts, repairs, and sells pallets—from Euro pallets to block pallets—in new, A-grade, and B-grade quality. The company is EPAL-certified for the trade, sorting, and repair of pallets, and processes hundreds of thousands of pallets per year, with tens of thousands of pallets in stock.

JKC has been working with Pallethandel Den Bosch since 2020: first on the corporate identity and website, and now on the next step in its digital growth.

The situation: wholesale logic doesn't fit into a standard online store

The existing website served as a business card and a source of quote requests, but every order still had to be processed manually. And we couldn't just activate any old online store plugin, because the pallet trade has its own set of rules:

  • There is a minimum order quantity per product, and for orders above certain volumes, custom solutions are available;
  • Prices are based on volume discounts and vary by regular customer;
  • Delivery depends on the region and the order size;
  • Some items in the product range are available only upon request.

The challenge: incorporate that entire wholesale business model into an online store that feels just as simple to the customer as ordering office supplies online.

The Approach: Custom WooCommerce, Built Around the B2B Buyer

Using a custom WooCommerce platform, we translated each business rule into a seamless ordering experience:

  • minimum order quantity and automatic volume discount, including a smart nudge in the shopping cart (“add X more items for an extra discount”);
  • Toggle between "including VAT" and "excluding VAT " in the header, as business buyers expect;
  • Delivery by ZIP code: free within the region, free for orders above a certain amount, and available upon request for custom deliveries;
  • a hybrid quoting process: products available on request and large volumes transition seamlessly to a quote request;
  • customer-specific prices and payment on account for regular customers, immediately visible after logging in;
  • reorder with a single click from the account or the order confirmation, because a wholesale business relies on repeat orders;
  • Automatic order confirmation with a delivery date, PDF invoices, and trusted payment methods such as iDEAL and Bancontact.

The technology: ready to be discovered and chosen

Behind the scenes, the online store was built to do more than just process orders:

  • product data as structured data (schema.org), so that Google and AI search engines can understand the product lineup and the products are ready for Google Shopping;
  • SEO-optimized content for each product category, building on the site's existing search visibility;
  • A streamlined management environment, so that the team at Pallethandel Den Bosch can manage products, prices, and inventory levels on their own without needing technical expertise.

The result: ordering without a phone call, 24 hours a day

Since going live in the summer of 2026, customers of Pallethandel Den Bosch have been able to view and compare pallets and place orders or request quotes immediately, at any time of day. Regular customers log in to access their own pricing and reorder with just a few clicks. The first inquiries and orders through the online store have already been placed, and with the customer portals for regular customers, the online store is gradually becoming the primary sales channel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can an online store handle tiered pricing and minimum order quantities?

Yes, through customization. Standard e-commerce software typically only handles unit prices. For Pallethandel Den Bosch, we built automatic volume discounts, a minimum order quantity per product, and a quotation process for large volumes—all within a single ordering workflow. The customer simply sees a clear price; the logic runs in the background.

How does an online store with customer-specific prices work?

Regular customers receive their own account with their own pricing agreements. After logging in, they can immediately view their prices, pay on account, and reorder with a single click. New customers order at the standard tiered prices or request a quote.

Is a B2B online store also a good option for a company that operates on a quote-based model?

Exactly. A hybrid approach handles both types of orders: standard orders are automatically processed through the online store, and anything that requires customization comes in as a full quote request. This way, revenue from automated orders grows, while personal contact remains in areas where it adds value.
