You buy a product or a service from us, and to help you properly we need personal data from you. You give us that when you send us documents, call, email or write to us, drop by, or speak to someone at JKC Media B.V. So it matters to us that you know your data is in careful and confidential hands. This statement explains exactly how we handle it.

Personal data is any piece of information about an identified or identifiable living person. That means it either says something about someone directly or can be traced back to them. Because it has to be a living person, data about people who have died or about organisations is not personal data. Your name, address and town are examples, and so are your phone number and a postcode with a house number. Sensitive information such as race, religion or health is known as special category data and has to be protected more strictly.

The personal data you give us is processed only for the following purposes:

• to do the agreed work as well, as efficiently and as effectively as possible;
• to contact you in the course of our services;

We process the following personal data:

• first name and surname;
• job title;
• company name;
• contact and invoicing address;
• email address;
• phone number;
• date of birth;
• gender;
• financial details, for delivering the service and for invoicing;
• any other data you have given us without being obliged to.

We do not process personal data that we did not obtain from you directly.

When processing personal data, JKC Media B.V. follows the rules privacy law sets out. That means we only collect and process personal data where there is a legal basis and a purpose for it. Only the data that is needed is collected, and it is then processed only for that specific purpose. We keep the nature of the data in mind and match the technical and organisational level of security to it. So you can take it that we handle personal data carefully, securely and confidentially.

Our work makes it necessary for our employees to have access to your personal data. To protect it there too, every one of our employees has signed a confidentiality agreement. It obliges them to keep your personal data strictly confidential and to handle what you entrust to us with care. Worth knowing as well: only authorised staff are allowed to process your data.

We collect and process personal data about you, but of course that data stays yours. So we will always let you see what we hold about you. If something is wrong, you can ask us to correct it. We do not keep your data longer than we need it for the purpose we obtained it for. The criteria we use to set a retention period are: the length of the agreement with JKC Media B.V.; whether a legal retention obligation or period applies; and whether there is a claim or dispute, or the prospect of one, for which the data would have to be kept.
