A meat importer whose prices change by the day
Anglo Dutch Meats, based in Helmond, selects and imports premium beef for the professional kitchen, with Japanese Wagyu at the center of it: fullblood Wagyu graded A5 and A5+, Kagoshima, Las Piedras F1 and grass-fed Black Angus. Their customers are restaurants, steakhouses, butchers and retail.
A shop with a checkout does not fit that trade. As the site itself puts it, they work with day prices and specific cutting requests, so the website had to sell the product without pricing it.
A catalog built to end in a quote
We built the site on WordPress with WooCommerce and used it as a specification catalog rather than a shop. Every product carries its origin, grading, feed and breed in a short table, with the description underneath and no price anywhere.
Each product page ends in a quote form that already knows which product the visitor is looking at.
- Four categories, from Black Angus to A5+ Japanese Wagyu, with 42 products in them today.
- A spec table per product: country of origin, Wagyu grading, feed and breed.
- Filters on category, cut, characteristics such as grain-fed, grass-fed and halal certified, Wagyu grading and BMS score.
- A quote form that asks for segment and volume and fills in the product name and URL by itself.
- A split on the homepage between business buyers and consumers.
Those two hidden product fields are the small part that matters, because a request now arrives with the cut already named.
The result
The catalog is live on anglodutchmeats.nl. A chef can filter down to a grain-fed A5+ tenderloin, read the origin, the grading and the number of days on feed, and send a quote request from that same page with the product attached.
Requests come in with a company name, a segment such as restaurant or retail, and a desired volume, so a reply can be prepared without a first round of questions.
