Search engine optimization (SEO)
Your new website contains all sorts of nice pages. About us, contact, news, services. But in all likelihood you do not yet have specific landing pages (> read more about what landing pages are) aimed at particular audiences and searches. In the end, landing pages are the pages that have to bring in business. But how do you create those landing pages?
- It starts with SEO research (using the Google Keyword Planner, for example). This lets you find out what your potential customers search for online and how you can adapt your website to it by matching those searches with what you offer. If you find this too complicated, we can always carry out an independent SEO study for you for just €75 (excl. VAT). Contact us about it!
- Once you have a selection of good keywords to focus on, you can create separate landing pages for them, provided they differ enough from each other. These pages need to contain information about your offering or product and provide an easy way to get in touch with your company.
- Collect backlinks to your landing pages from related websites and guest articles on other websites. Want to read more about how to build links with guest blogging?
Once you have tackled and worked this out properly, you will notice that you get new customers and contact requests from those landing pages.
Advertising in search engines (SEA)
Advertising in search engines is a widely used and fast way to see results from your website within a short time. It puts you straight at the top of the search engines, and you only have to pay for the number of clicks on your ad.

Example of paid ads in Google for the search query ‘marketing bureau’. In Google Ads you can set up a campaign yourself, or you can outsource it to an SEA specialist (Search Engine Advertising specialist). If you do not know what you are doing, you can waste money pretty quickly or spend more than you actually want to.
Writing web copy
Writing good web copy is another thing that matters for your website. You have to try to sense the pain or need of your visitor (your potential customer, in other words) and make the right offer for it (usually with your product or service). On top of that, good web copy lets you work in certain search terms in a natural way, so your website can be found extra easily in the search engines. There are still plenty of websites that start with ‘welcome to the website of..’. That is a bad example of how to address your visitors. If you run an accounting firm, for instance, and your website starts with the heading ‘welcome to…’, you could turn it into something like: ‘Outsource your bookkeeping quickly & easily? ..’. That way you also target the keyword ‘outsource bookkeeping’ nicely. Two birds with one stone!
Website optimization
We have published several articles before about optimizing and improving your website, such as: – A guide to creating good landing pages; – An explanation of a link building strategy with guest blogging; – And a short summary of how to make your website perfect. In any case, we recommend that your website is fast, relevant, well designed and radiates authority. That is not only good for the search engines, but also for the visitors who end up on the website itself.
Conversion optimization
Conversion matters for your website too. Naturally you want as many of your website visitors as possible to convert into actual customers. You can improve this by applying the following things, for example:
- Social proof: show reviews from previous customers on your website;
- Contact forms: give visitors the option to leave their details for a quote or for information with no strings attached;
- A structured layout on your website, and certainly on your landing pages.
Conclusion
If you optimize your website properly for SEO (and possibly SEA for short-term results), or have it optimized, and you keep a close eye on your website and its content, it is only a matter of time before more quote requests and orders start coming in through your website.
