If you are working on your online visibility, there is no getting around it: SEO is changing at high speed. Especially now that AI has more and more influence on how search engines work and what users expect. How do you respond to that? In this blog you will read which three SEO trends really make the difference in 2026, what you can do with them and how we at JKC put them to smart use. That way you know exactly where to start to stay findable, even in an AI-driven search world.

Who is this blog for?

This blog is for organizations that do not just want to exist in Google, but want to stay relevant and visible in a search landscape that is changing fast. Are you working on online visibility? Then these developments are crucial to your strategy.

1. Zero-click & AI search: becoming visible before the click

More and more often, Google gives the answer in the search results themselves. Think of a short block of text, a short list or a frequently asked question that is immediately visible without anyone having to click a link. This is called a zero-click search.

Example of a zero-click search result in Google

And this is not marginal. According to Search Engine Land, more than 58% of all searches are now zero-click. In other words: more than half of all searchers get an answer without clicking on anything at all.

What does that mean for you?

If you want to be among those answers, your website has to be built extremely sharply. Clear headings, direct answers and smart use of questions. Google picks the answer that is fastest and clearest. And if your content meets that standard, it can be featured.

Good to know: with such an answer, Google often also shows your website as the source, complete with a clickable link. But not always. Even so, it is smart to invest in this, because your brand becomes visible at the top of Google, you build authority with your audience, and if your answer is not quite complete, people will still click through.

What can you do?

  • Use clear headings and direct answers
  • Work real questions from your audience into your content
  • Add an FAQ section to your pages
  • Use structured data (schema.org) so Google recognizes your information easily

2. E-E-A-T & brand authority: trust becomes a ranking factor

We have already touched on E-E-A-T briefly in this blog (Why findability with AI is essential for your business), but in the AI era this Google guideline is only becoming more important. That is why we go into it a bit more deeply here.

Google attaches more and more value to content that comes from reliable, knowledgeable sources. The E-E-A-T factor stands for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trustworthiness, and it has been an official and important part of the search algorithms since 2022.

According to WebFX, pages with demonstrable experience, real-world examples and clear author information consistently perform better than generic or AI-generated content. Now that AI content is appearing in large volumes, genuine human expertise is becoming a differentiator.

What does that mean for you?

Publishing a well-written SEO text is no longer enough. You have to show that you know what you are talking about, and make sure that Google and your visitors can recognize it too.

What can you do?

  • Add author information with name, role and expertise
  • Publish case studies, customer stories and results
  • Cover topics in depth instead of superficially and in general terms
  • Refer to reliable external sources and get yourself mentioned

3. Structure and technology as the key to AI visibility

In an AI-driven search environment, it is no longer only about what you say, but above all how you say it and how well your site supports that technically. Google’s new AI systems, such as the Search Generative Experience (SGE), generate summaries and answers based on several sources at once. But not every site is eligible to be included.

It turns out that only content that is well structured, clearly marked up and technically accessible gets picked up in those AI overviews. Not because the content is necessarily better, but because AI can interpret it more easily.

Why does this matter?

In its documentation about SGE, Google states that AI search is meant to give users an overview and depth more quickly, and that only “relevant and reliable” results are used as sources. Content that is technically easy to read, with clear headings, well-defined paragraphs and contextual structure, therefore has a better chance of being selected.

SEO experts also note that AI overviews mainly use content that is clear, consistent and directly interpretable. Not only for people, but for machines as well. Think of structured data, a logical HTML structure, tidy lists and short question-and-answer blocks.

What can you do?

  • Build up your content with short paragraphs, clear subheadings and a logical hierarchy
  • Optimize FAQs, definitions and practical answers that Google can easily summarize or quote
  • Avoid a messy layout in which AI struggles to recognize the context

How does JKC approach this?

At JKC, we build lasting online visibility from the ground up. We factor SEO and AI in from the strategy onwards, through design and content, all the way into the technology of your website. Everything fits together: the structure, the speed, the content and the intent.

  • SEO that moves with your growth plans, changing customer questions and new propositions
  • Content that performs in Google and convinces your audience
  • Technology that makes your site fast, accessible and AI-ready

Being visible in Google is important. But it only becomes truly valuable when the right people find you and click through. That is what we are here for.

Conclusion

SEO in 2026 stopped being about tricks or isolated keywords a long time ago. It is about relevance, trust and structure. And in the AI era, something else comes on top of that: becoming visible before anyone even clicks. By building your content smartly, setting it up in a technically strong way and continuing to optimize, you make sure you are not only found, but chosen.
